Its happened. I know the old saying always applies that you can indict a ham sandwich. Recent political show trials have proved that. And once the feds got involved, they weren’t going away. You can’t have a house that’s dedicated to fighting dogs. And its a law not to do so in the first place. When they came last week to dig again, it wasn’t going to be good news for Mike Vick.
So now we have something thats a little bit different from a professional athlete that will cut down to what for many is a fragile sense of personal values. Many in our society cherish the company of dogs and do so in such warmth that its quite hard to describe. Treating them in this inhumane way is sickening and those who have done so in such a selfish way will forever be labled as pariahs to many.
And what value system does one have when you treat animals with such calluseness? What else do these people give themselves license to do? What else are they capable of?
Efforts to make this one about race are going to be unsustainable although some are trying to advance it. As this buffer falls away, only an ugly, grizzly and brutal story og human behavior will remain.
