Politics, Education, Culture, and oh....the Mets. A former athletic trainer for the NY Mets, the writer still follows his team while offering his own unique outlook on politics. A life long GOP conservative, this high school teacher has departed from his party roots and takes issue with the Florida GOP's legislative agenda on education. Recent favorite topics involve Florida's controversial education reform bill SB 6, local efforts to defeat Allen Boyd (D) FLA 2nd and the Florida Senate race.

He’s one of the few mainstream writers who ‘get’ what blogging is all about. As far as Willie’s treatment of Milledge, i’m not ready to read so far into it. Willie likes to get all his players in there so when called upon, they’re not coming in cold. This is a team in every sense of the word, and Willie is responsible for that. Milledge will get plenty of playing time, people get too wrapped up in the day to day and forget the bigger picture.I’m more confused about batting Newhan second today, but I suppose Willie’s rational there was to get Newhan to see more strikes. Gotay has shown the ability to get on base without the luxury of needing to bat in that slot. I don’t agree with it 100%, but I understand what he might be trying to do there.original [...]<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('755','Sikes on Delcos on Willie « Hot Foot'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('755','Sikes on Delcos on Willie « Hot Foot','[...] Sikes on Delcos on Willie Bob Sikes on Getting Paid To Watch gives props to John Delcos for keeping it real on his blog for The Journal News.I’m a fan of John as well.
