Church went on the DL as a result of a concussion he suffered during spring training this season. By his own admission, he suffred one when colliding with the wall in Pittsburg during 2005. It worth questioning his history of migraine headaches as their presence is consistent with second impact syndrome. I can find no fault with the manner the Mets medical staff in their care for Church. I wonder if they were aware that Church had a history of concussions and perhaps migraines when they acquired him.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('4847','bobsikes','Church went on the DL as a result of a concussion he suffered during spring training this season.
I don't see this as an issue. Lots of guys have had a concussion, with no ill effects. Church went on the DL with his previous injury, so the Mets knew about it.
The bigger issue is that Church has had one more concussion than we thought. Everything I have seen about concussions is that the more you have, the worse off you will be, and the better the chance of post-concussion syndrome. Just adds more fuel to the worrying of Met fans that Church is done for the year.
Reply - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('4846','tarheelcoach','I don\'t see this as an issue.
