The ad will be run in Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. The ad features an unnamed Viet Nam vet and its effectiveness is largely based on voters being anti-Iraq war. It utilizes a misleading fact that McCain joined President Bush and was against veteran’s benefits. I found it bland and unpersuasive. But the location of the ad buy signals where Dems feel they are vulnarable among white blue-collar voters and veteran’s groups. Link to the ad here at Jonathan Martin’s excellent blog in the Politico.
