POLITICS: House Democrats say NO to Assisting Military Voters Serving Overseas

From Bob Novak in Real Clear Politics:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rep. Roy Blunt, the House Republican whip, on July 8 introduced a resolution demanding that the Defense Department better enable U.S. military personnel overseas to vote in the November elections. That act was followed by silence. Democrats normally leap on an opportunity to find fault with the Bush Pentagon. But not a single Democrat joined Blunt as a co-sponsor, and an all-Republican proposal cannot pass in the Democratic-controlled House.

No surprise there as Dems know members of the military are more likely to be GOP voters. Some fault lies with Pentagon paper shufflers, but its easy to see that Dems are willing to disenfranchise military voters but will sign up fraudulant voters via ACORN.

Actually, the upper echelons are Liberally sprinkled with “political” officers — real garret troopers — who’s major facility is measured by the depth of the mahogany tone on the end of their nose. Like Clark, these “officers”, (just calling thm that leaves a terrible taste in my mouth…,) main allegence is to themselves. They also have the same fellow-traveller feeling about the military as the Clintons. They see their continued existance in uniform as “God’s Work” to act as drags and morale assassins. Sadly, I know many of these. While on the whole the military is perforce Conservative, as any reality-based group must be, these barnicles on the body-politic are those behind the “tip of the spear”. You know, where they are safe from the consequences of their actions and policies.

In the normal course of events, these types were weeded out while still Company Grade, (i.e. prior to Field Grade, or pinning on Major…,) but the ’90s changed that. They hate a meritocrasy, prefering to advance on guile & apple-polish.

These are the leakers & foot-draggers. They no doubt believe that “those good-old days of the 90s” will return with a Leftward Lurch. They’re already laying in a huge supply of apple-polish and nosewipes.

The are an Obamanation, so I guess they’ll be right at home…
