Obama the narcissist? And if so, what price will Democrats pay?

Wow. I admit to reading World Net Daily, but usually do not source them in my blogging. And while I generally agree for the most part in the socio-political philosophy of the site, it sometimes slants in a more harsh manner than I am comfotable with. In the current climate, however, it is a useful tool for an attempt at counterweighting against the obviously more vicious than what’s on the dem-left side.

Still, today’s post does address what should have been a story. American knew nothing of this man and little was asked by a MSM that’s been a PR wing for the Democrat Party for decades now. Any inquiry into the President’s past were trivialized, demonized or squashed outright.

While the hero worship by some in the MSM continues – he was actually asked by a NYT reporter during a presser what enthralled him now about the presidency – his action’s are now completely public, and he can no longer live behind spin. It’s likely to be catching up with him. Hence today’s WND column.

.

Though inexperienced and arguably unqualified for the presidency, he mesmerized the entire establishment press and more than half of voters, many regarding him nothing short of a political messiah. Though he can barely speak publicly without a teleprompter, he’s praised as a transcendent communicator. Though his voting record is extreme left, he portrays himself as a pragmatic centrist.

But beyond Obama’s political ideology, many Americans are troubled also by his strange personality attributes: He greatly exaggerates his achievements, expects constant praise and admiration, believes he’s special, doesn’t appear to concern himself with other people’s feelings, expresses disdain for those he feels are inferior, sets unrealistic goals, appears as tough-minded and unemotional, and other qualities – all of which are textbook symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder

If there is a parallel, one only need to take a brief look back at the constant character assasinations of President Bush advanced by Democrarts and their media flacks. Narcissism cuts deep though and is applied differently than any other perceived failing of Bush. Listen to what these observers say:

Indeed, the word “narcissist” is increasingly being applied to America’s 44th president. Pulitzer prize-winning columnist and former psychiatrist Charles Krauthammer asks, “Does the narcissism of this man know no bounds?” Jack Kelly, journalist and former high-ranking Reagan administration Pentagon official, says: “The most dangerous thing about having a narcissist in a position of power is his unwillingness – perhaps his inability – to ever admit error. … Obama acknowledged the troop surge in Iraq has produced dramatic improvements, but said he still would oppose it.” Radio giant Rush Limbaugh said of Obama recently: “He’s supremely narcissistic … This is all about him. This has nothing to do with the country. It has nothing to do with our way of life. Every aspect of his presidency is about building him up, making him appear to be savior, messiah …”

While the quote is easily cast aside by democrats with Limbaugh’s inclusion, Kelly and Kraughthammer are seasoned respected journalists. With Obama’s term providing nothing that coincides with his hope and change mantra and his actions only providing fuel for partisanship, a crisis will test a narcissist. The conditions are perfect for an over reach one way or the other that potentially crush his presidency and harm the nation.

Americans of any persuassion do not want this to happen. Even though Democrats seemed to be rooting against the American armed services in Iraq, Republicans will not doing anything similar. So if Obama fails a test that comes from overseas by over reaching it will give support to the label.

And what blame will American put on the Democrat Party at that point as it was they whom anointed him, enabled him and kept his failings behind the curtain? Will the democrat’s MSM pay a price? Or will they throw him overboard?

We must wait and hope none of this comes to pass. Heaven help us if it does.

Will the continuing overt lying about national security issues help the GOP to nationalize the 2010 elections?

Speaker Nancy Pelosi has clearly been caught in her lies about the enhanced interrogation memos, but now Jay Rockefeller.

On February 4, 2003, Senators Pat Roberts and Jay Rockefeller of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence were given a briefing in which “EITs [were] ‘described in considerable detail,’ including ‘how the water board was used.’ The process by which the techniques were approved by DoJ was also raised.” The document also adds that Mr. Rockefeller, the Committee’s ranking Democrat, was later given an “individual briefing.”

Nor was that the only time Mr. Rockefeller, who chaired the Committee from 2007 to 2009, heard from the CIA. The West Virginian was briefed at least 12 times more about interrogation techniques, legal authorities and other aspects of the program. The last, in June 2008, was offered to 10 members of the Senate Intelligence Committee and covered “discussion of EITs and the OLC [Office of Legal Counsel] opinions. Specific mentions of waterboarding numerous time.”

Yet in October 2008, following a Washington Post report on the existence of the OLC memos, Mr. Rockefeller disclaimed any knowledge of the opinions. “If White House documents exist that set the policy for the use of coercive techniques such as waterboarding, those documents have been kept from the committee,” said Mr. Rockefeller. “That is unacceptable, and represents the latest example of the Bush Administration withholding critical information from Congress and the American people in an attempt to limit our oversight of sensitive intelligence collection activities.”

Amusingly, or almost, Senator Rockefeller’s denial is flatly contradicted by his own report on the subject released last month, which notes that “On May 19, 2008, the Department of Justice and the Central Intelligence Agency provided the Committee with access to all opinions and a number of other documents prepared by the Office of Legal Counsel . . . concerning the legality of the CIA’s detention and interrogation program. Five of these documents provided addressed the use of waterboarding.”

So much for the canard that the Bush Administration didn’t keep Congress informed. But Congressional Democrats are being equally disingenuous when they pretend they could do nothing about what they were hearing from the CIA. Members could, and sometimes did, object to proposed CIA actions and could stop them in their tracks.

Jennifer Rubin provided this link to the Rockefeller predicament, applied these Dem thruthfulness issues to Obama making national security into a partisan attack:

There is a new game in town. The president tried a selective declassification and suggested some potential investigation and prosecution of those who worked to defend the country from peril. Someone or some group of individuals don’t appreciate the gamesmanship and have thrown open the hatches — out comes the information about forgotten briefings. And Rep. Pete Hoekstra hints there is more where that came from.

Obama and the Democrats in Congress violated a cardinal rule: don’t play politics with national security. They now should be prepared to pay the price.

Rockefeller does not face West Virginia voters in 2010, but Pelosi does in an extremely safe seat. But Pelosi will be an issue in toss-up House seats along with other Democrats with cerdibility problems like Charlie Rangel and John Murtha. Nevermind what happens with Chris Dodd and Roland Burris. A model they can use is one similar to Newt Gingrich’s Contract With America that swept the GOP into power durig the last first mid-term election after a Democrat president took over in 1994.

But the GOP will have to get off their ass and not be afraid to go on the offensive. They will also have to end the bickering that’s going on within the party. The RINO label has hurt the party, but not as bad as the Dems’s MSM would have you believe. They will also have to stop peeing on their own shoes as they have with Jim Bunning’s untimely comments about Mitch McConnel and Jeb Bush’s negative crack about Ronald Regan.

It will need to be about the issues and a narrative that lays out Democrat malfeasance, hypocisy and its self-serving legislative agenda.

UPDATE: Betsy Newmark posts on Pelosi and adds this:

Do her minions in the Democratic caucus appreciate being lied to by their leader? Or will they just smile and pretend to believe her convoluted prevaricating about what she knew and when she knew it? I wonder if there aren’t some Democrats in the House who would be happy to see her brought low, Steny Hoyer perhaps? Jane Harman must be chuckling a bit. Nancy didn’t get where she is today without trampling on a few toes.

Now that she’s been exposed, I guess it’s about time for the President to come out and nobly call for all the partisan fingerpointing to end and for us to turn to the future. It’s no fun if any but Republicans are going to be skewered.

Naturally I agree with Newmark, but hypocrisy involving Pelosi will be three-fold. First, she just won’t have to deal with it. Second, the media will give her a pass. Third, her base and party don’t care that she lied as it is all about attacking republicans.

Newmark points to the fact that Pelosi may not have support of her entire caucas. Steny Hoyer, the number two Dem in the House is a rival. Jane Harmon does not like Pelosi either. But its doubtful Dems will throw their hyper partisan leader out as she’s too powerful and they love her tanacity.

The GOP fights back against ACORN

Finally.

The stories of convictions, arrests and prosecutions seem to come out every day for all over the country. The author of this article, John Fund, has written a book on the subject, Stealing Elections: How Voter Fraud Threatens Our Democracy In support of his 2004 book, he penned an article the appeared in National Review in which he explained why voter fraud is more likely to occur from democrats:

In their book Dirty Little Secrets, Larry Sabato and co-author Glenn Simpson of the Wall Street Journal noted another factor in why Republican election fraud is less common. Republican base voters are middle-class and not easily induced to commit fraud, while “the pool of people who appear to be available and more vulnerable to an invitation to participate in vote fraud tend to lean Democratic.” Some liberal activists that Sabato and Simpson interviewed even partly justified fraudulent electoral behavior on the grounds that because the poor and dispossessed have so little political clout, “extraordinary measures (for example, stretching the absentee ballot or registration rules) are required to compensate.” Paul Herrison, director of the Center for American Politics at the University of Maryland, agrees that “most incidents of wide-scale voter fraud reportedly occur in inner cities, which are largely populated by minority groups.”

Democrats are far more skilled at encouraging poor people — who need money — to participate in shady vote-buying schemes. “I had no choice. I was hungry that day,” Thomas Felder told the Miami Herald in explaining why he illegally voted in a mayoral election. “You wanted the money, you were told who to vote for.” Sometimes it’s not just food that vote stealers are hungry for. A former Democratic congressman gave me this explanation of why voting irregularities more often crop up in his party’s back yard: “When many Republicans lose an election, they go back into what they call the private sector. When many Democrats lose an election, they lose power and money. They need to eat, and people will do an awful lot in order to eat.”

The asendancy of Barack Obama has its roots in organizing for ACORN. There should be no doubt that Obama is well aware of their shady, behind the scenes operations. Coupled with the immediate naming of ACORN to “assist” with US Census taking next year by the Obama administration, facts seemlessly point to a new Democrat Party way to perpetuate fraud on America.

Obama’s “lawless conduct” in strongarming Chrysler’s cerditors

From John Hinderacker at Powerline:

Barack Obama’s lawless conduct in connection with the Chrysler bankruptcy is sending shock waves through the business community. It is important to understand what is happening here. Many think that Obama is merely engaging in crony capitalism, favoring his political supporters (most notably the Auto Workers Union) at the expense of others. That’s true, of course, but it is much worse than that: Obama has tried to bully those who have not bought his favor–Chrysler’s non-TARP secured creditors–into giving up their legal rights by threatening to use the powers of the White House to damage their businesses. This sort of lawlessness is common in some of the more corrupt Third World countries, but it is brand new to the United States.

More from Gateway Pundit

Only Fox News has been advancing this by interviewing democrat lawyers who supported Obama that are being strongarmed in Huey Long fashion. Will it get further?

Is Obama blackmailing Israel?

You make the judgement from this Rahm Emanuel quote to AIPAC:

“[t]hwarting Iran’s nuclear program is conditional on progress in peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians

Its hard not to see otherwise. But it makes me wonder whether or not America’s jews actually care about Israel. This article in the Jerusalem Post indicates that 79% of Jews support Obama’s job so far.

Obama’s cold shoulder to Israel that’s opposite of the platform he ran on is becoming clear. Is is that we are seeing that the affection America’s jews have for Israel is both fleeting and rare? Do democrats know this and its one of those best kept secrets?

Nevermind the question of whether of not throwing Israel under the bus is in our best interests. With the loss of Sen. Norm Coleman and the defection of Arlen Specter, the only jewish GOP member of congress is Rep. Eric Cantor of Maryland. Its easy to assume that the majority of jewish voters favor the Democrat party for ideological reasons and that Israel’s fate has little or no weight.

Or is this an overreach by the leftist’s soul of Obama? He’s certainly made no secret his intentions to stock his administration with anti-Israel influence. Will we see potential naysayers among jewish democrats in congress? Or will it only be Joe Lieberman?

If the current Obama/democrat policy toward Israel continues, the conclusion that America’s jews are turning their head to potential persecution of their brethren is a fair one.

Is today the day the pushback begins on Selana Roberts’ book?

Mike Geenberg and Mike Golic said so within the first 10 minutes of their show. Jason Whitlock penned this Saturday who also points out that Roberts never wrote a retraction for her reporting on the Duke Lacrosse players.

General Petraus calls current vets America’s next greatest generation

I’m inclined to agree. The men and women whom defeated al Queda in Iraq were and all -volunteer force. Fortunately it appears that President Obama and the Democrats see Afghanistan as a place that America must prevail as well.

Favorite to gain SCOTUS nomination believes that courts are where policy is made

Hoo-boy. What a nightmare. Too bad for U-Tube, Dems.

It should come as no surprise that the opposite of judicial restraint and strict adherence to the constitution would be an Obama nominee. Thank God Bush went to the mat for Roberts and Alito.
