At first glance it doesn’t seem like much, but Jeff Francouer is younger, more athletic and durable than Ryan Church. He makes the Mets a better team at home in a outfield that proved to be quite challenging. Francouer’s presence and reputation in rightfield prevents teams from taking as many liberties on extra bases. When Carlos Beltran returns the Mets can be considered to have a good defensive outfield.
Its understandable to see things in a neggative light right now, but Omar Minaya and John Ricco did a good job here.
