Politics, Education, Culture, and oh....the Mets. A former athletic trainer for the NY Mets, the writer still follows his team while offering his own unique outlook on politics. A life long GOP conservative, this high school teacher has departed from his party roots and takes issue with the Florida GOP's legislative agenda on education. Recent favorite topics involve Florida's controversial education reform bill SB 6, local efforts to defeat Allen Boyd (D) FLA 2nd and the Florida Senate race.

It’s remarkable to see such one-issue naivete in my own party. Did Crist just advocate killing puppies? This is beneath a man of Mack’s stature.

The more I hear my party’s pols talk about education, the more I realize how little they actually know about it. Have they been so blinded by partisan ideology that they are unable to observe, listen and make sound judgements? Or do they just go off willy-nilly in lockstep driven in the same manner that does the Democrat Party?

Senator Mack’s statement indicated that he know’s nothing of the details of SB 6 and that he, too failed to listen to the state’s school superintendents of both parties whom called for the bill’s veto. I guess Mack is just like those Democrat pols whom didn’t read the health care bill and just did what Nancy Pelosi told them to do.

Mack’s action’s this evening will further harm the Republican Party and show how tone deaf they are to all voters. They assume that they just know best when it comes to education.

Like the attack against the member of Bobby Jindal’s staff in New Orleans Friday night, the attack against against a Tea Party assembly in Boston will go unreported and is on film.

The unpresidented quote from Barack Obama during the campaign to bring a gun if they bring a knife was frightening enough of it’s own weight, but his followers are acting on his behalf now in the streets of America’s. Neither he nor the MSM media which shares his views hold accountable such despicable behavior. It is the Democrat Party of which they not only both serve, but also answer.

UPDATES: Two bloggers, Tennessee Conservative and The Hayride have been doing the best reporting on the New Orleans incident and the shadowy groups that were involved in the protest and perhaps the assault.

UPDATE (504 AM Thursday) Left Coast Rebel was video, audio and photos of groups there to distrupt Boston’s Tea Party.

Syndicated columnist, Larry Elder takes a stab at balancing the ledger on which side of the political spectrum is more guilty of advancing hateful narratives. To be fair, both sides engage in extremes. And as Elder says, violence should be prosecuted and hateful speech condemned. But as the MSM, now clearly the propoganda arm of the Democrat Party, Observers like Elder calls attention to just what some Democrats are saying.

Elder shares a story that I’d not heard before regarding Democrat advisor Lanny Davis. Good friends with Joe Lieberman, Davis campaigned for him in Connecticut.

Lanny Davis, former special counsel to President Clinton, campaigned for Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut.

Lieberman, despite his reliably left-wing voting record, infuriated the left for supporting the Iraq War.

Davis found himself on the receiving end of “hate and vitriol of bloggers on the liberal side of the aisle” and “their extremism, bigotry and intolerance.” A friend and fellow Lieberman supporter, said Davis, became “fearful for his physical safety.”

“I held on to the view,” Davis admitted, “that the left was inherently more tolerant and less hateful than the right. … I have reluctantly concluded that I was wrong. The far right does not have a monopoly on bigotry and hatred and sanctimony.”

Chris Matthews recently became exorcised when Rush Limbaugh used the word, “regime” when describing the Obama administration. Said Matthews:

This is to me — I`ll just give you a little editorial (INAUDIBLE) I`ve never seen language like this in the American press, referring to an elected representative government, elected in a totally fair, democratic, American election — we will have another one in November, we`ll have another one for president in a couple years — fair, free, and wonderful democracy we have in this country. And this guy, this walrus under water, makes fun of this administration, calling it a “regime.” We know that word, “regime.” It was used by recent presidents (INAUDIBLE) by George Bush, “regime change.” You go to war with regimes. Regimes are tyrannies. They`re juntas. They`re military coups. The use of the word “regime” in American political parlance is unacceptable, and someone should tell the walrus to stop using it.

Jonah Goldberg did the heavy lifting – he did a Nexus search. Says Goldberg:

On July 7, 2004, Ralph Nader — appearing with Matthews on “Hardball” — discussed how he would “take apart the Bush regime.” On May 26, 2003, Joe Scarborough noted a left-wing website that “has published a deck of Bush regime playing cards.” A September 26, 2002 program featured a viewer email that said, “The Bush regime rhetoric gets goofier and more desperate every day.”

Finally — you knew this was coming — on June 14, 2002, Chris Matthews himself introduced a panel discussion about a letter signed by many prominent leftists condemning the Bush administration’s conduct of the war on terror. “Let’s go to the Reverend Al Sharpton,” Matthews said. “Reverend Sharpton, what do you make of this letter and this panoply of the left condemning the Bush regime?”

Oops. Perhaps Joe McCarthy never called the U.S. government a regime, but Chris Matthews did. And a lot of other people did, too. So now we are supposed to believe him when he expresses disgust at Rush Limbaugh doing the same?

This is what Mark Steyn would refer to as fake hate. With the MSM functioning as the propoganda arm of the Democrat Party, its not hard to understand why FOX News is so popular. But conservatives, republicans and Tea Party supporters must be resolute. A lesson must be taken from the failure of the Bush administration to consistently articulate its views and let Democrats dominate the narrative with rhetorical flourishes.

Well, yea.

Long a shill for Democrats, Dionne continues to advance party talking points that attempt to dismiss and demonize the movement. The headline conveys the tone deafness and detachment from middle America that President Obama and his enabling left-wing members of Congress have acquired.

So what effect does Dionne’s quip-like headline have on folks who are Tea Partiers or identify with the movement’s values?

Answer: None.

Voters that Dionne is attempting to marginalize and humiliate see statism as the agenda that’s currently being advanced by the Democrat Party. See the simple and easy to read list that follows:

The government owning General Motors: statist.

Strong arming GM’s creditors: statist.

Cap and Trade (tax): statist.

Government take over of health care: statist.

Attempts to control the banking system: statist.

Using the EPA to unilaterally impose carbon regulations: statists.

Pay Czars: Really statist.

Czars in general: so statist it’s crazy.

Attempts to pre-determine the census by using ACORN as census takers: you have to be kidding me statist.

Dionne is not clear whether or not he considers statsim to be bad or whether he believes Tea Partiers meerly call Obamaism statist. Perhaps he feels that by dropping the radicalist bomb best serves his party’s spin. Whatever Dionne’s intent, its unmasks the Democrats problem.

Onward we go with the same Democrat agenda that’s served to embolden the GOP and that’s launched a movement that’s galvanized independent voters. It’s likley will get stronger if Dionne and his party continue their current path.

7:27: Watching MSNBC while Fox goes to Sheppard Smith. Chris Matthews seems to be calling in straight and like and old time political reporter. I wish he would do this more, but I can understand his passion. Jonathan Martin from POLITICO is on with him.

7:29: Matthews predicts that Scott Brown can go to the top of the GOP presidential field if he wins tonight.

7:23: MSNBC has a trailer with the tallies. 52-47 percent Brown thus far. Anthony Weiner complaining again abouit the fillubuster rule in the Senate. Wonder what he said about holding up Bush judicial nominees. Folks are starting to see Dem hypocrisy.

7:31: Robert Costa at NRO’s Bay State Report talks a little about the Doug Flutie endorsement for Brown. Flutie has been linked mostly to democrat candidates in the past.

7:35: Gateway Pundit catches Coakley campaign’s claim of fraud to be a memo prepared yesterday

No way. That’s desperate beyond all description.

7:45: MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnel says Dems are bracing for a 5 point or greater loss. Matthews says “Yeah, right” on the claim of voter fraud by Dems. Wow

8:05: Mass. Sec of State dismissing fraud charge. There went delaying the outcome.

8:11: Olberman with Howard Fineman are talking about Democrat party canibalism/finger pointing. Everything except their own message.

8:14: OMG. Olberman is comparing a potential GOP takeover to civil rights opposition in the 60′s. Thank goodness Fineman brushed that aside.

8:27: Tom Bevan of Real Clear Politics is live blogging. Must link.

8:39: Olberman’s worst people…geez, no wonder nobody watches him anymore. I’m done with it, and will have to hope that FOX starts putting the count on.

8:59: Matthews went back to Dem stooge and said the American service people feel better about going to Haiti then they do fighting terrorist.

9:02: Back to FOX with Olberman’s buddy Hannity. Brown up by 7 points. Can’t wait for Dem denials. It has nothing to do with their agenda as people just don’t know what’s best for them like they do.

9:15: Did Howard Dean actually blame George Bush for the Brown win? I know I came in mid sentence and was depending on Maddow. But Steny Hoyer said that Brown win was about how bad folks were mad at the GOP. Huh? Sten, buddy…Howard…dude…..you guys got blown out. And you are blaming the other side. ???

10:15: YES!! AP…according to FOX has been declared the winner.

Signing off…God Bless America, the people of Massachusetts and Scott Brown.

It’s a shame that Republicans were so hard on her.
But, the Left was worse.

I couldn’t agree more. And it’s time to call out the GOP and it’s political leadership we have days like today. Sarah Palin didn’t ask for this. Like Joe the Plumber, she was asked to join the national stage. Neither was protected by the GOP estanblishment or enough conservative intelligencia. No, you all have to be above the fray or above all of it. To be nice and better than them. Cowards.

And because you all were cowards and would not stand up to the bullies of the Democrat party. As the attacks against the two were personal in nature, the attackers had to be confronted directly and yes, personally. Democrats will continue roll this way as long as there is no cost to applying reprehensible attacks on children as Democrats did with the Palin children.

Don’t plan on winning any more elections while Democrats play hardball and we play puffball.
