EDUCATION: Why some Florida Republican’s voted no on SB 6

New Port Richey Senator Mike Fasano understood why the bill had to be voted down.

“This was no longer a teachers union issue,” Fasano said. “This Senate Bill 6 took on a life of its own, and I saw that in my district when hard-core Republicans, who vote in Republican primaries, were contacting me, telling me to urge the governor to veto the bill. This was no longer a union, or Democratic issue. This went beyond that.”

Republican pols are not listening to their own and spouting predictable talking points. Too many of the even most practical conservative thinkers such as Walter Williams have long spoken against the current public school system. Sadly even he too, is baised by the presence of a union. Williams fails to see that there are really good public school districts, and that that these are what we should be modeling

Williams, Newt Gingrich, and Jeb Bush would have us tear down all of the good schools to create an ideological image that has not and never will exist. They continue to have all the answers without the benifit of first listening. Sort of like Democrats heath care. Works great in Europe and Canada, doesn’t it?

EDUCATION: The Seismic Shift in Fortunes for Republicans that is SB6

George LeMieux added his name to the list of Republicans whom chose suicide for the false choice that SB 6 offers.

There’s a reason why the state’s association of superintendents – many of them Republicans – asked Govenor Crist to veto the bill. Not only is it bad for education, it’s fiscally untenable.

Is it that too many Republicans are drinking at the the anti-union trough and let it cloud there judgement? It’s almost as if education for Republicans is a similar holy grail as is health care for Democrats. And like Obamacare, voters will figure it out.

So it will go that Republicans handed the initiative they gained to the folly of Obamaism back to Democrats. And it is for the same reason in that the party’s power brokers demonstrated that they could not be trusted to have good judgement in something so important. For Democrats it was health care and for the GOP it is education.

POLITICS: Dems losing 79 Congressional seats in November?

Whoa.

And what if, for example, the Rasmussen case comes into being? Rasmussen has the Democrats losing the generic ballot by 9 points (and has had similar numbers for awhile). A 9-point loss in the House popular vote would translate into a projected 65-seat loss for Democrats. Or, if we adjust the Rasmussen poll to account for the fact that the Democrats’ performance in the popular vote tends to lag the generic ballot, it works out to a 12.4-point loss in the popular vote, which implies a loss of 79 seats!

That’s overly optimistic, but AJ Strata was quoting a left-leaning pollster.

WAR: Obama’s failure to protect us at home

It will have to be left to the blogosphere to be the record. AJ Strata details how and why the Obama administration has failed to protect America from radical Islamists. While the Clinton adminstration failed to do more that through prosecutors at the problem, Clinton did not have the national will behind him that came from 9-11. We’ll never really be sure what happened with any clarity regarding Bin Laden as Sandy Berger seems to have destroyed the paper trail.

But now, Democrats have lost credibility with respect to fighting people who’s purpose is to kill as many Americans as they can. Couple that with lost credibilty on the economy and health care.

Does that make me a white-hooded racist wannabe?

I guess so if we apply Rachael Maddow’s rules. . And yes, I wish that I had been able to attent the Tea Party Convention in Nashville.

I wonder whom Maddow believed she is influencing. Does she feel that she’s converting mainstream Americans who just happen to tune in? Does she believe that by calling Tea Party or Sarah Palin supporters They were Obama voters and Democrats anyhow. Maddow is likliest to only steady the resolve of those she loathes so much.

Some Democrat members of the media still in denial

…that the Brown victory in Massachusetts was a anti-Obama vote.

They could be using WH talking points. Not all Democrats are reading them though. Evan Byah indicated as much last week. That war we’ve been hearing about within the GOP is actually now underway in the Democrat Party. The denial by the left coupled with the WH’s full speed ahead mode is likely to be on full display during the President’s SOTU Wednesday.

Sarah Palin: Remarkable American Woman that Democrats will never be able to understand

Jay Newton-Small of TIME puts Sarah Palin real time as no other journalist ever attempted to do. Those whom loved her were right. Those whom doubted or hated her were…and still are…wrong.

Yes, we were right about her. She is the real deal. She was hated beacuse she is America and is so much more than any public figure in history. We craved her wisdom. Her real life and real world experience thats beltway types – both of the left and right – was what our country still aches for. Yet they taunt. They redicule. Its clear to us now through this wonderous women that it is they who have lost touch with America.

Sarah, I want you to be there for America. But after knowing what it is that you find as love and family, I want you to stay in Alaska. And go fishing with Todd and Piper and Trig.

Republicans: stop the circular firing squad

My rant as published on Just One Minute:

Republicans and conservatives have to stop the circular firing squad that takes out pols who share our values that we do like Sarah Palin and Marco Rubio. Stop trying to impress everyone with a self absorbed opinion of your own intelligence by finding a reason to do Democrats bidding for them. People like Palin and Rubio have guts to represent values we clutch to. Stop giving Dems ammunition to take American for themselves

Just how bad have Obama and Democrats wrecked the ecomomy with their lust for power?

Jim Hoft, the talented proprietor of Gateway Pundit, has aan easy to read piece at American Issues Project. Here’s the telling nember on how many jobs Obama and Democrats have killed since January:

The US lost over 2.5 million jobs in the first four months of this year under the Obama Administration. The US economy lost 598,000 jobs in January, 706,000 jobs in February, 742,000 jobs in March, 545,000 jobs in April, 485,000 jobs in May, and 473,000 jobs in June. That’s a total of 3,549,000 lost jobs since the beginning of this year. The US unemployment rate has risen from 7.6 percent to 9.5 percent under Obama, the highest rate in 26 years. The Bureau of Labor Statistics, via Sweetness and Light, released a map of the unemployment rate over the last ten years. It’s not pretty. The US has lost 16,000 jobs each day since Democrats passed their non-Stimulus bill, the largest redistribution of wealth from the private sector to government officials in US history. President Obama promised that the unemployment rate would not rise above 8.0 percent with the Stimulus. Today, he says it will climb over 10 percent.

Wow.
