Carly Fiorina may take on Barbara Boxer US Senate seat in 2010

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO and McCain supporter, Fiorina would bring some badly needed star power for the GOP in a senate race. I hope that her health is ok as she underwent treatment for breast cancer last year. Still an accomplished candidate taking on the archaic feminism of Barbara Boxer will be welcome. I hope she’s OK and will jump in the race.

Fiorina’s emmergence as a potential candidate demonstrate just how behind the GOP is in recruiting. It seems easier to get them for open seats like in Florida (Crist and Rubio) and in Ohio (Portman) But to my knowledge, Fiorina is the only high powered GOP figure willing to take on a sitting Democrat.

It remains a MSM pattern to trot out former Republicans to bash their party. Megan McCain has thankfully gone silent. But now that Colin Powell is on record of endorsing what has turned out to be be the most leftward-leaning president in history, he’s on Sunday TV saying he’s still a Republican. What a crock. And what a disappointment to the American spirit Powell has become. He’s clearly most about Colin Powell and the Democrat shills of the MSM are happy to tool him.

Obama is bound to run into many of the fiefdoms that entrenched DEMs ruthlessly govern mandate from. See the examples of Lee, Waxman, Conyers, et al. He’ll need allies among the GOP and will be willing to cut deals. Obama’s no fool and its one of the reasons he cultivated several conservative commentators at George Will’s home last week. Look for Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins as potential trading partners. McCain’s influence among colleagues appears to be weakening inspite of his intervention today with Cornyn on Clinton’s
Sec State appointment.

Here’s the link. Pay close attention to the comments. The posters from Russia are clearly tilted toward demonizing Georgia while the Europeans were on the other side of the argument. Naturally one Seattle poster went into a hate rant on Bush and McCain.

In my Mets days, guys used to hate giving interviews that they knew would be heard in the clubhouse. Any use of a personal pronoun in their statement would be mocked in unison, “I, Me, Me, I, Me, Me, I……”

So if we are to believe WaPo’s Dana Milbank, Obama said this yesterday when speaking to congressional democrats:

Inside, according to a witness, he told the House members, “This is the moment . . . that the world is waiting for,” adding: “I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions.”

Dem operatives are out spinning now and saying that the quote was taken out of context. Some like the one who appeared on Fox moments ago attempted to change the subject by running out the false claim that McCain had attempted to land a helicoptor on an oil rig during a hurricane. McCain cancelled his visit to an oil platform over a day in advance because of safety issues. Nevermind the fact that the rig was going to be evacuated. Hysterical dem hacks are notorious for making false claims on TV.

To draw the parallel with major league players again, when the freshly interviewed player returned to the hooting lockeroom, he’d often be asked if he’d been reading his own press clippings too much.

Perhaps this is what Obama is doing. Intoxicated by roaring masses and a largely fawning press, Obama is now personifying what he’s been criticized for becoming – the messianic figure. The use of “I”, even in a meeting with colleagues, is troubling in the manner in which it was applied. No matter what context.

Nontheless, a great unswoon is underway. With the startling critical editorial from the Washington Post’s Richard Cohen yesterday was just another example that with 97 days left the media may not be as in the tank for Obama as some have observed.
