Politics, Education, Culture, and oh....the Mets. A former athletic trainer for the NY Mets, the writer still follows his team while offering his own unique outlook on politics. A life long GOP conservative, this high school teacher has departed from his party roots and takes issue with the Florida GOP's legislative agenda on education. Recent favorite topics involve Florida's controversial education reform bill SB 6, local efforts to defeat Allen Boyd (D) FLA 2nd and the Florida Senate race.

The man who’s case demonstrated to the nation that Sonya Sotomayor is wrong for the nations highest court is to be smeared by Democrat operatives.

People for the American Way is leading the efforts to discredit Ricci. However, the organization is forgetting its core message by attacking Ricci. It’s own mission statement says the following:

Our vision is a vibrantly diverse democratic society in which everyone is treated equally under the law, given the freedom and opportunity to pursue their dreams, and encouraged to participate in our nation’s civic and political life. Our America respects diversity, nurtures creativity and combats hatred and bigotry.

PFAW stand against Ricci reaches howler hypocricy status as it is Ricci who was a victim of Sotomayor’s ruling which kept him from pursuing his dreams. But not to get caught they applied the diversity portion in their press release of June 29:

Supreme Court today ruled 5-4 to overturn the Second Circuit’s decision in Ricci v. DeStefano. The Court’s ruling severely limits the ability of governments and private corporations to create a diverse workforce.

People For the American Way Executive Vice President Marge Baker issued the following statement:

“Anyone looking for more evidence of how conservative the Supreme Court has become will be well served by today’s decision. The Court today seriously undermined Title VII’s protections against acts that may appear harmless on their face but that, in fact, have a discriminatory effect.

“Title VII dramatically improved the diversity of police and fire departments that previously had few, if any, minorities or women. Under the restrictions put in place today, it will be much more difficult for these departments to continue to build a diverse workforce.

“The Court today set a new standard for how states and cities across the country can operate – and in the process exposed conservative cries for ‘judicial restraint’ as utterly hypocritical. It seems conservative legal activists are perfectly happy to have judges rewrite the law as long as they get the result they want. In Ricci, the far right wing of the Court defied Congress’s well thought out design for encouraging diversity and preventing discrimination in favor of its own preferred policy. If the ruling has any upside, it’s that we’ll no longer have to listen to the Right’s cries of ‘judicial activism’ with a straight face.”

So essentially it seems that PFAW’s goal is a perceived diversity over equal opportunity. Nevermind qualifications, ability, the quality of leadership. First and foremost is skin color or gender. A moajority of American long ago decided that this is not the way we want to go as a society, yet PFAW demonstrates here that it is they who are outside mainstream American ideals….or ways if you will.

But there’s more. In the PFAW blog, People for Blog, Drew opins in a post about the witness list for the Sotomayor hearing the following:

Not exactly the kind of person who should be front and center discussing an institution that should be devoted to protecting the rights and liberties of ordinary Americans .

Emphasis mine. I doubt they will be able to get beyond the contradiction in his statement as it was an ordinary American in Frank Ricci whose rights were denied by Sonya Sotomayor.

You’ll not get MSM coverage of this story, especially if the NYT squashes it.

More from Gateway Pundit and Flopping Aces

The NY Times stopped being accepted as a real newspaper years ago and their editors have assumed the status of Dem hacks. But when they start running interference for a fascist organization like ACORN who’s voter fraud efforts are documented, they become complicit in illegal activities. It will be interesting to find out the name or names of the editors at the paper whom killed Stephanie Strom’s story.

Issues involving ACORN must be taken in a context that includes the its close relationship with the President. But also now that as ACORN has demonstrated at the very least to be a partisan political action committee of operatives, its upcoming role in census taking next year must be ended.

Republicans on the Hill will have to hault this dangerous continuation of fascism that the President and his party are advancing. Hopefully Rep. Lynn Westmoreland of Georgia - the vice ranking member of the subcommitee that oversees the U.S. Census will provide the leadership necessary.

In my Mets days, guys used to hate giving interviews that they knew would be heard in the clubhouse. Any use of a personal pronoun in their statement would be mocked in unison, “I, Me, Me, I, Me, Me, I……”

So if we are to believe WaPo’s Dana Milbank, Obama said this yesterday when speaking to congressional democrats:

Inside, according to a witness, he told the House members, “This is the moment . . . that the world is waiting for,” adding: “I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions.”

Dem operatives are out spinning now and saying that the quote was taken out of context. Some like the one who appeared on Fox moments ago attempted to change the subject by running out the false claim that McCain had attempted to land a helicoptor on an oil rig during a hurricane. McCain cancelled his visit to an oil platform over a day in advance because of safety issues. Nevermind the fact that the rig was going to be evacuated. Hysterical dem hacks are notorious for making false claims on TV.

To draw the parallel with major league players again, when the freshly interviewed player returned to the hooting lockeroom, he’d often be asked if he’d been reading his own press clippings too much.

Perhaps this is what Obama is doing. Intoxicated by roaring masses and a largely fawning press, Obama is now personifying what he’s been criticized for becoming – the messianic figure. The use of “I”, even in a meeting with colleagues, is troubling in the manner in which it was applied. No matter what context.

Nontheless, a great unswoon is underway. With the startling critical editorial from the Washington Post’s Richard Cohen yesterday was just another example that with 97 days left the media may not be as in the tank for Obama as some have observed.
