Being intellectually dishonest when saying Palin quit

John Podhoretz points out the high level of hypocrisy with Palin when compared to two other female govenors whom left their posts to join the Obama administration:

Of all the lines of argument concerning Sarah Palin’s resignation as governor of Alaska, surely there is none more disingenuous than the “she abandoned her post” line proffered today by Donny Deutsch on MSNBC and yesterday by Ruth Marcus in the Washington Post (whose article was entitled “Big Girls Don’t Quit,” another example of the bizarre double standard according to which it is acceptable to deride a 45 year-old Republican grandmother by calling her a “girl”). Strangely, neither of these commentators, nor anybody else for that matter, accused, say, Govs. Kathleen Sibelius of Kansas or Janet Napolitano of Arizona of “abandoning their posts” when they resigned to take cabinet jobs in the Obama administration. Nobody accused Rahm Emanuel of dissing his Chicagoland voters when he quit Congress weeks after winning reelection in November to become White House chief of staff. That these elected officials took other jobs in public service is meaningless; they all ran for full terms and decided that they wanted to do something else, so they went ahead and did something else. That’s fine, and so is Palin quitting for whatever reason she chose to quit. Being elected is not a prison sentence; just ask Barack Obama, who didn’t let his promise to Illinois voters that he would serve out a full term impede him from running for office; same with Hillary Clinton, for that matter.

Because its Sarah Palin, there’s always been an off-the-charts double standard. Even conservative commentators are caught up in the nonsense and are unable to think straight when it comes to Palin.

Democrat media lies about Sarah Palin being investigated by FBI

Its a categorical denial.

A day after Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resigned, a federal official in her home state dismissed one potential explanation for her sudden and unexpected resignation: a rumored FBI investigation into the former Wasilla mayor on public corruption charges.

Despite rumors of a looming controversy after the Republican governor’s surprise announcement Friday that she would leave office this month, some of them published in the blogosphere, the FBI’s Alaska spokesman said the bureau had no investigation into Palin for her activities as governor, as mayor or in any other capacity.

“There is absolutely no truth to those rumors that we’re investigating her or getting ready to indict her,” Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. “It’s just not true.” He added that there was “no wiggle room” in his comments for any kind of inquiry.

H/T: Hot Air

Don’t expect any apologies. But its long since time we started questioning the character of those whom both create and spread these rumors. If indeed the attorney that represents the Palins interests does go forward with sue individuals for slander, it will reveal which Democrats are responsible for funding such slime.

Two Democrat female talking heads have revealed their own despicable lack of morals in their cruel attacks on Palin. See Liz Trotta’s comments and the tasteless column by Maureen Dowd.

It’s long overdue that conservative’s take on the pitiful name calling of the left and legitimately question the character of those making such public personal attacks. When you show the bully you’ll hit back, they have a tendency to back down.

Will Obama stand aside while Chavez invades Honduras?

Honduras is a military ally. If Obama allows Hugo Chavez to begin operations against Honduras without lifting a finger, he and his party will have to go as it will be the greatest deriliction of duty a US commander-in-cheif has ever committed.

There is no way in hell that America and it’s interests are served with allowing Chavez and the emerging fascist leftism of the OAS a free hand in Honduras. Its bad enough that Obama and ultimately his party have failed to provide neither moral clarity or leadership to freedom seeking Iranians. Nevermind the stong arm tactics with another ally in Israel.

Yes, Dems. That means treasonous and you and your president will have proved again that you are not to be trusted when protecting America, it’s values, it’s friends and it’s standing in the world.

Good thing you sent all those hacks to Alaska to meddle in Alaska politics by beginning all those frivolous ethics claims against Sarah Palin that cost the state $2,000,000.

First thoughts about Sarah Palin’s resignation

I agree with Gateway Pundit who says this:

It’s a shame that Republicans were so hard on her.
But, the Left was worse.

I couldn’t agree more. And it’s time to call out the GOP and it’s political leadership we have days like today. Sarah Palin didn’t ask for this. Like Joe the Plumber, she was asked to join the national stage. Neither was protected by the GOP estanblishment or enough conservative intelligencia. No, you all have to be above the fray or above all of it. To be nice and better than them. Cowards.

And because you all were cowards and would not stand up to the bullies of the Democrat party. As the attacks against the two were personal in nature, the attackers had to be confronted directly and yes, personally. Democrats will continue roll this way as long as there is no cost to applying reprehensible attacks on children as Democrats did with the Palin children.

Don’t plan on winning any more elections while Democrats play hardball and we play puffball.

Another despicable leftist attack on Sarah Palin is refuted by folks who were actually there

Demleftdom easily personalizes issues and calls people names with the treatment of Sarah Palin continuing to demonstrate a sickness of character and itellectual capabilities. Its hard to find worthy any argument of Andrew Sullivan after following his grotesque diatribes on Palin. Sullivan and his sad collegues comfortably utter untruths and pass along lurid gossip as journalism. Todd Purdum’s Vanity Fair profile of Palin is another example. Today, members of the McCain campaign who worked closely with Palin went of record in refuting Purdum’s piece which relied on those who would not go on record.

There are indeed members of the McCain campaign who are throwing mud at Palin as evidenced by Fox News’ Carl Cameron reporting as much – without attributing his story to anyone. The vicious nature of those who engage in such discourse must be called out – and yes labeled accordingly. They can no longer be ignored.

The shallowness of Barbara Boxer

Taking offense to being called, Ma’am by a general.

I’m not sure what to be more disturbed by – Boxer’s outdated women’s lib nonsense or her ignorance into military customs that mandates referring to all civilians as Sir and Ma’am. A US senator should know better. But Boxer’s pettiness demonstrates an odd sort negative self-image that drives some liberalism. I doubt that Sarah Palin would find no offense in being called Ma’am.

“The Heart, Head and Gut of the GOP”

A fair take by the WaPo’s Chris Cillizza: Here’s Callizza’s take on why Sarah Palin represents the heart of the GOP and it’s voters:

Palin’s appeal within the GOP is derived from the sense that she “gets” the hopes, dreams and worries of the average Republican footsoldier. Palin’s verbal colloquialisms, which play into that “hockey mom” image, were on full display with Hannity. Of the growth of the government, Palin said that “you’ve got to quit digging that hole when you are in that financial hole;” she also called the actions of the Obama Adminstration “kind of a ‘we told you so.’” Palin embodies the outrage that many conservatives feel toward President Obama — the idea that his intellectualism and talk of bipartisanship mask a dangerous tendency to rely on government to solve problems. Palin’s solution to what ails the GOP is a return to the party roots, a plain-spoken conservatism that doesn’t try to outsmart or outthink Obama but rather aims to draw heavily on “common sense values” in the country to make the case against the current president.

Well, yeah. Too bad far too many on her own side don’t get it.

Elite GOP Senate ignoring grassroots out of self interest

From Robert Stacy McCain who marvelously uses The Godfather analogy:

The desire of leading Republicans to recover their power — their influence, their prestige in Washington — is perfectly understandable. Like Fredo, however, the Beltway GOP leadership is weak, stupid and cowardly, seeking to curry favor with an implacable enemy by disrespecting their own family.

By picking Crist 15 months ahead of the Florida Republican primary, John Cornyn and the NRSC showed disloyalty and disrespect to the GOP grassroots, effectively declaring to the Moe Green Democrats, “Yeah, Moe, we’ve learned our lesson. We can’t disrespect you. We’re your friends. Look, we’re going to nominate an Obama-loving, stimulus-endorsing sellout.”

In this scenario, the conservative base of the Republican Party is cast in the role of Michael Corleone. And that’s what the Not One Red Cent movement is about.

It’s not about Charlie Crist. It’s about respect.

While early polls show Crist comfortably ahead of Marco Rubio, its not over yet. Crist is popular with the press, but amongst grassroots conservative through Florida, he has problems. This is especially true in the GOP stronghold in the Panhandle. Rubio’s campaign has not really gotten off the ground yet, but he will. When he does its likely that establishment GOP like John McCain and Sarah Palin will be staying on the sidelines for the state’s republicans to fight it out.

A trip down memory lane: MSNBC’s David Schuster asks whether or not the Clinton’s are “pimping out Chelsea”

Boy, did the left go insane in the membrane over that. Here’s Huff Po’s Talyor Marsh:

I am disgusted by the indiscriminate sexism and blatant misogyny of this statement. I also cannot believe in the 21st century we have Neanderthal men parading around with such arrogance that they wouldn’t immediately check themselves as a statement like this went tripping through their itsy-bitsy-teeny-weeny brain. That I have to point out the history and monumental importance of what’s going on between Chelsea and her mother at this moment makes me so incredibly sad that words almost escape me.

Chelsea Clinton is making a choice. She’s not some chick robot turning political tricks for her mother, showing cleavage and thigh, while hoping to get cash for some hustler.

Mothers and daughters have been working together for centuries, supporting one another. I wish my mother were alive to see and feel and experience what I am right now. I cannot imagine the pride of Chelsea Clinton as she watches her mother compete as the first viable female presidential candidate in United States history. The joy is one thing, but the sheer history of this moment must be an awesome thing to experience as her daughter. Together they must be having the time of their lives.

Put this in context with David Letterman’s comments about Sarah Palin and her daughter.
