What’s Eric Holder hiding THIS TIME?

Naturally he’s stonewalling on this as his department is on the Black Panther case. Holder had a hearing with the Senate two months ago and was questioned about Justice lawyers whom advised him about and were representing the interests of GITMO detainees.

Here’s Sen. Charles Grassley’s question and Holder’s astonishing response:

Grassley:”This prior representation, I think, creates a conflict of interest problem for these individuals. I want to know more about who is advising you on these decisions.”

Grassley (paraphrasing): “the names of political appointees in your department who represent detainees or who work for organizations advocating on their behalf&hellipthe cases or projects that these appointees work with respect to detainee prior to joining the Justice Department&hellipand the cases or projects relating to detainees that have worked on since joining the Justice Department.”

Holder: “I will certainly consider that request.”

Grassley is still waiting.

It begs the question of whether of not this clear stonewall is because members of Holder’s own law firm stand to be enriched by representing terrorists. And some are now political appointees at DOJ.

John McCain’s vanity at work again in statement that 9-11 terrorists came through Canada

No they didn’t. They were Saudis whom came here directly via a fast track State Department program for “students” that made detection impossible. The origins and justifications for the policy were never really taken to task effectively by the commision which turned into a CYA effort to cover Clinton era Democrats. But that’s beside the point.

McCain cannot be that naive to not know the 9-11 terrorists did not come through Canada. Even Janet Napolitano apologized for saying so. Republicans are used to this sort of baby talk from McCain when he seems to be in the mood to make nice with the Dem leaning MSM. Maybe it makes sense that his daughter is becoming an operational arm of the DNC.

Former Dem Senator agrees with interrogation techniques

Bob Graham…also a former govenor of Florida.

And by the way, Dems. Its not torture. Your guys (ie terrorists) are not harmed in any way, but that doesn’t seem to bother you if real torture happens to Americans. Especially if they are soldiers -men or women. And especially when it gets in the way of your infantile hate for George Bush.

Time for EU to Stand Up in Georgia

AJ Strata makes an excellent point why it is the European Union and not the US whom should be doing the heavy lifting on the Russian invasion of Georgia.

Russia has attacked a European nation (even if it is not yet in NATO or the EU). When the EU rebuffed Georgia’s entry into NATO recently, and therefore withheld the security protections that membership incurs, they were more interested in poking America and Bush in the eye. They sacrificed their neighbors to get in a cheep shot at America – and now Europe is being invaded.

And in his usually biting way, Strata skewers Europe and the Left:

Is Europe still a bunch of Neville Chamberlains, willing to sacrifice smaller nations in sure-to-fail effort to appease the predators? We know Obama is the epitome of Chamberlain model, still hoping for defeat in Iraq after we have already achieved victory! The world is be tested again, as it was on 9-11. Will it respond in a lesser way to the killing of civilians by military forces than it did to the killing of civilians by terrorists? Are we at the point were military invasions are less worthy of responding to than terrorist attacks?
